Things are Better

Hola Mamasita. Well this week I’m a lot happier to write you guys because I have no complaints. This week was a lot better. One companion of our trio, Elder Reyes, had an emergency changeout so now it’s just one companionship in the whole ward.  My new companion who, was left with me, is Elder Paravato.  He is from Lancaster California. He has a little less time than me in the mission. We are getting along great and working very well together.

In our ward on Sunday, we had a surprise visit from our new mission presidency. It was really cool. They are really great. They wanted to apologize to the bishop for taking out a companionship and to give us their support. I feel a lot of love from them.  But yeah things are going a lot better.

I’m doing better in all of my studies too. I’m learning a lot from the New Testament especially the Epistles of Paul. He was one wise guy. We have to use a lot of those scriptures to teach the Christian Evangelists here because they have a way different form of interpreting the Bible. Sometimes we have to Bible bash a little bit, and it’s kind of fun. But I always try to leave a good impression with all the people even if they don’t accept us at first because I know it will be easier for them to accept it in the future if I don’t offend them.

My companion and I are good at just loving the people. I really have fallen in love with this people and this place. Sometimes I just sit back and look around me and realize that dirt floors and rats don’t even bother me anymore. But I also think how very very blessed we are to live where we live and have what we have. I’m so grateful for the blessing it is to serve here in this country. The work really is blessed here. I’m going to continue bettering everything I do here and not let anything set me back again. I love you guys a lot!

Adios Turin Y Hola El Mora!

Well I had changes! I love my new area and my new comp!  He is really awesome. His name is Elder Barrienots. He played on the Honduras national team for baseball and will most likely play minor league for the Atlanta Braves when he gets home.  He is a great teacher of the gospel and we are working really good together. It was hard to say  goodbye to all the people in my last area. The goodbyes are always really  hard.

I’m back in Santa Ana in Zona Molino. The vibe in this part of the city is way cool.  All the people here are friends and they are always hanging out in the street at night.  It is a very safe area. The people here love us, and are so nice to us, even the ones that aren’t members.

The members in this area are way cool.  We have three families progressing and we are hoping to put baptism dates with one of them this week.  The ward here is fairly strong. The attendance at church was 122 people.  We were able to bring 5 investigators to church. I am really excited to work hard here and progress spiritually also.

The house here is really nice. It has two stories with 2 bathrooms and nice showers. I love you guys! Have fun in Boston!

Rain, Rain, Rain

This week was good. Daisy and her daughters came to church again.  The rainy season has officially started. It’s been raining for like the last 3 days.  We were afraid that no one was going to show up to church because of the rain but we ended up having really good attendance. My companion and I have both been kind of missing home. We just need to stay busier.

Haha…Thats funny that you mentioned talents. Apparently I was developing my musical talents too much so they took my guitar away for a little bit. I ended up telling them to just give it away to one of the converts that we were teaching in my last area that was learning to play the guitar.  I’ll probably buy another one in the future.

So its officially June and I have 10 months left. It’s also the last month that we will be with President Cordon. He will be released in July. We're looking forward to getting to know the new mission president. We've heard that he is way cool.

But yeah I love y’all lots.  Have a great week!
The rain is making me a little crazy!

The Rainy Season Has Officially Started!

Wow… I was just talking about Disneyland with some people here the other day. Glad to see you enjoyed it and had a good time with the Powell family. Yay… I’m so glad Ashley is having a boy! When is she due? And I’m excited to go to Florida when I get home to see the Katz family too.

That’s crazy to think that Alex McBride already finished  his mission and came home.  It seems like he just went out.  But yeah, this week has been pretty hard. We struggled to find and teach new people. Out of the 7 that had committed to come to church, we had only 1 show up. It was Daisy. She really likes coming to church.  She invited us to lunch afterwards. She is a waaaaayyy good cook.  I’m definitely going to miss the food here.

You guys need to go to the SalvadoreƱo Restaurant in Mesa one of these days. You need to try the Pupusas.  They are way good!  That is the typical food of El Salvador.

I’m glad that I’m not in the heat of Arizona. The  rainy season has officially started here.  The other day we got soaked, but it was way fun. After a lesson we taught,  it started raining so we started walking toward the nearest members house. We walked by this really pretty soccer field and some little kids were playing in the rain so instead we stopped and played with them for a few minutes.  It was way fun!

My companion and I  get along great  We decided that we are going to start working even harder and forget about ourselves in the work. I love you guys and hope you have a great week! Oh and what the heck??? Peyton and Kylie have gotten so huge!!! It was good to see everybody in all the pictures you sent.
Much love from El Salvador!

Good Week

May 19, 2014

Well this week was pretty good. We were able to bring 3 investigators to church. We brought a lady named Daisy and her 2 daughters.  They are really great people. Daisy is a watch saleswoman.  She gave me a really pretty watch for free.  We are going to try and put a baptism date with her two daughters.  We can’t put one with her because her boyfriend doesn’t want to get married with her.  I don’t know why because she is a really good lady.

We are going to go eat lunch with her this Sunday. Hopefully her boyfriend will have a change of heart and want to get married.  The only problem is that he doesn’t really want anything to do with the church either.  But we will see what happens.

My companion and I have been going exploring farther out in our area. We have found some really good families up in the mountains. It’s really pretty here in Turin.  We have to come back and visit afterward my mission. So you need to start planning a trip.  But yeah… I love you guys a ton and hope y’all have a great week!
Los amo!
