The Rainy Season Has Officially Started!

Wow… I was just talking about Disneyland with some people here the other day. Glad to see you enjoyed it and had a good time with the Powell family. Yay… I’m so glad Ashley is having a boy! When is she due? And I’m excited to go to Florida when I get home to see the Katz family too.

That’s crazy to think that Alex McBride already finished  his mission and came home.  It seems like he just went out.  But yeah, this week has been pretty hard. We struggled to find and teach new people. Out of the 7 that had committed to come to church, we had only 1 show up. It was Daisy. She really likes coming to church.  She invited us to lunch afterwards. She is a waaaaayyy good cook.  I’m definitely going to miss the food here.

You guys need to go to the SalvadoreƱo Restaurant in Mesa one of these days. You need to try the Pupusas.  They are way good!  That is the typical food of El Salvador.

I’m glad that I’m not in the heat of Arizona. The  rainy season has officially started here.  The other day we got soaked, but it was way fun. After a lesson we taught,  it started raining so we started walking toward the nearest members house. We walked by this really pretty soccer field and some little kids were playing in the rain so instead we stopped and played with them for a few minutes.  It was way fun!

My companion and I  get along great  We decided that we are going to start working even harder and forget about ourselves in the work. I love you guys and hope you have a great week! Oh and what the heck??? Peyton and Kylie have gotten so huge!!! It was good to see everybody in all the pictures you sent.
Much love from El Salvador!

Good Week

May 19, 2014

Well this week was pretty good. We were able to bring 3 investigators to church. We brought a lady named Daisy and her 2 daughters.  They are really great people. Daisy is a watch saleswoman.  She gave me a really pretty watch for free.  We are going to try and put a baptism date with her two daughters.  We can’t put one with her because her boyfriend doesn’t want to get married with her.  I don’t know why because she is a really good lady.

We are going to go eat lunch with her this Sunday. Hopefully her boyfriend will have a change of heart and want to get married.  The only problem is that he doesn’t really want anything to do with the church either.  But we will see what happens.

My companion and I have been going exploring farther out in our area. We have found some really good families up in the mountains. It’s really pretty here in Turin.  We have to come back and visit afterward my mission. So you need to start planning a trip.  But yeah… I love you guys a ton and hope y’all have a great week!

Super New Companion!

My companion and I had changes! My old companion was moved to a different area. I love my new companion so much! We get along super good. Things are going way better! . I’ve discovered that having a good companion makes a huge difference in really having fun while you are working.

I’m going to attach some photos for you! There is a picture of my new companion. His name is Elder Boquin.  He is from Honduras. He is way cool. Basically, we have all of the same interests and he loves to joke around…like me... You’ll probably notice that from the crazy lucha libre masks that we are wearing in one of the pictures:-)

OK,  so I don't have much to say because I’m going to Skype on Sunday night for Mothers Day... like at 7:00 PM …so at about 6:00 AZ time. Can't wait! Love, Elder Hoy
