Happy New Year!

Hey Mamasita. Well... yeah Skyping with the family is always great! I miss our crazy family a lot. Christmas here was normal. They had parties 3 nights in a row right down the street from our house. They didn't finish, with their music blasting, until about 3 in the morning...  so it was really hard to get any sleep. Then they set off a bunch of fireworks. We got to see them and it reminded me of 4th of July. That will be really fun for next year.

This week was kind of a bummer because we found our only progressing investigator, Fransisco, rolling a joint at his cousins house. He hadn't been honest with us. He told us that he had stopped smoking but when we found him, he was like "thanks for helping me guys but I really like smoking weed and I can't leave it"... So that was a bummer! We thought that he really wanted to change. Now our focus will be to find new people who would like to hear our message.

I don't have much to tell you guys because we just talked a few days ago. I just want to let you all know I love you a lot and wish everyone a Happy New Year! Have fun and be safe!
Much love

Tough Week...

Hey Mamasita... I’m doing alright. We had some problems in our district so I told the mission president that I preferred not to be the district leader anymore. So me and my companion are just going to continue working hard together here in our area..

We had a sad thing happen with one of our investigators Erwin, who was supposed to get baptized on Saturday. When we went to get him, he had changed houses. When we found him, he didn’t want anything to do with us... So that was a bummer.

Me and my companion get along good and work really well together. We were able to bring a new investigator to church named Francisco. He lives in a little tin and plastic shack and has had a lot of problems in his life. He really wants to change so I gave him a pair of pants and a white shirt to go to church. He is going to come next week  and bring his cousin and his cousins wife with him. We are going to invite them to get baptized in January so they can start the new year over as new people.

My companion and I are planning to Skype on the 25th at 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I can’t wait to see you guys. I miss you all a ton...especially after seeing the pictures of everyone at the temple lights and everything. I guess I’ll see you guys pretty soon anyway...but yeah I love you so much mom. Thank you for everything you have done for me and for always being such a loving mother.  ''...as long as I'm living my mommy you'll be...''

Yeah...17 New Investigators!

So this week was good…  not much was happening so we just started talking with a ton of people and ended up finding like 17 new investigators... but other than that, nothing really super special happened.

We have had 4 of us missionaries living in a 3 room house. The other missionaries had a misunderstanding with the owner of their house, so it’s been kind of crazy on some of the  nights…but we have still been working good. My companion and I are getting along really good.

I can’t believe Christmas is in like 2 weeks. I can’t wait!! We are planning on going Christmas caroling here with the other missionaries when Christmas gets closer. This place is going to get crazy here though because they have parties for like 2 weeks with Ferris wheels and all that crazy stuff! So we will see what happens!

I’m just excited because they have a bunch of food and candy stands that they put up. I’m going to get very fat this Christmas! Well, sorry for the short lame email but I love you guys a lot and hope y’all have a great week!
Much love

#BESTTHANKSGIVINGDINNEREVER

Oh man you guys would not believe what I ate for thanksgiving!!! EGGSBEANSANDTORTILLASFORLIFE!!!!!!  …Almost as good as moms home cooking... almost..

Well this was an exciting week! I had changes. My new companion is named Elder Martinez. He is from Nicaragua. He is very small but he is a good worker and knows a ton about the Bible. His biological father is an Evangelistic Preacher. I’m really excited to serve here with Elder Martinez and work hard.

We started this thing called ''He is the Gift''. He, being Jesus Christ, and that He was the first gift from a loving Heavenly Father to us, his children. We have been talking with a bunch of people in the street and we even started contacting people on the buses here. It was the first time I had done it. But I got on with my ukulele and my companion has one of those flute recorders (the kind they gave us in 2nd grade in elementary school)...But he can actually play more than Mary Had A Little Lamb.

We played a hymn for all the people on the bus and handed out a bunch of pass along cards. My legs were shaking so bad as we did it but I felt really good afterward... and it also helped that they didn’t charge us for using the bus. So I think we are going to keep doing that all the time... first, to preach the gospel, and second, to not spend so much money for transportation ha-ha!

I can’t believe we are already in December! I can’t wait for Christmas!! 24 days! I already made a ''days ‘til Christmas'' countdown. Mom, you really nailed it with the beef and cheese package...because I literally had no food in the house and almost no money... ha-ha so that saved my life.

I like my area because people actually put up Christmas lights and stuff. They are going to start having big festivals where they sell a bunch of typical food and toys so I'm going to buy a bunch of things to bring home to the children of AZ. Well Happy Holidays and I love you all and hope y'all have a great week!!!!
Much Love

Thanksgiving Lunch with the Mission!

Hey momma...no I still haven't gotten the package yet...hopefully this week. Wow!!!  I'm way jealous of your adventures! I want to go to Europe! Let's go next summer! I have a friend that is living in Paris right now on a study abroad program and she says it's so cool to be there. Our weather here is warm...cold fronts don't exist in Central America... haha.

Well another normal week has gone by. But there were some fun things. On Thursday we had a Thanksgiving Lunch with half the mission. We can't do it with all the missionaries because there isn't a church big enough here to hold all 230 something of us. But we had a nice big hunk of turkey and by nice big hunk, I mean I finished it in like 4 bites. We also had a spoonful of mashed potatoes and some vegetables... good quality but the portions could have been a LITTLE bit bigger...

They told us today that my companion is going to have changes so on Wednesday I will be getting a new companion. I'm kind of bummed because me and Elder Villanueva get along really good... but change is always good.

On Friday we went and made tacos with a family but they didn't turn out too good because the tortillas here are really thick. Like imagine eating a taco with five tortillas...so its just a little weird.

We have been visiting this family up in the mountains and they have horses and cows and stuff so we took pictures with their horse. Tomorrow we are going to go help them on their farm that they have. It's about an hour walk up into the mountains and it has a really cool view... so I should have some cool pictures next week.

Our investigators are doing good. We have this guy Edwin that is someone that was prepared by the Lord for us to find and teach. He is one of the few people that I have met here that actually understands almost everything we teach. So it is really cool to teach him.

Hey that's so cool for Maddie. Now we will be able to speak Spanish together after our missions. I'm going to miss Black Friday shopping with you!  Wow... that's cool to hear about Lexie and my letter! I miss those kids a ton. I cant wait to see them! Its crazy to think I only have like 4 months left. Where does the time go???

Well momma I love you so much and I'm so grateful for you and your amazing example to me. I hope you have a great week!!
